A Brief Visit to East Beckham Common

An estimated 10 volunteers suddenly dwindled to 5 in the 24 hours prior to the work party at East Beckham Common on Saturday November 19th. These Saturday events were intended to give volunteers who actually work in the week a chance to join us, but sadly, two of those who were going to come were unable to make it, at the last minute.

In fact, it turned out to be a good thing that so few came, as we didn’t have a great deal to do – some scything at the top of the common, and a bit of path clearance, lopping off branches impeding the path. However, the 5 of us enjoyed the shortened work party and had time to discuss how volunteers might become more involved in and knowledgeable about how Felbeck Trust manages sites. And, as ever, it is always a joy to work on this small, but beautifully formed site. And my directions will be better next time – it is indeed the A148, not the A140, running between Cromer and Holt!
