NWT sponsored Scythe Training - a great success

On Sunday, seven Felbeck Trust volunteers assembled for our Norfolk Wildlife Trust sponsored scythe training day, expertly led by Richard Brown of Emorsgate Seeds. In the morning we learned something of the history of scything and the basic techniques involved. Then we put our new-found skills to good use, first on the wildflower meadows of the St John's church-yard nature reserve and then, after lunch, at Sustead Common. We finished the day with some advanced instruction into the mystical art of 'peening'!
