Felbeck Fungi Foray Fun

Yesterday morning, at Sustead Common, we had a real treat - a two hour fungi foray, led by UK expert Dr Tony Leech. Tony structured our expectations on the low side, given the recent dry spell and his experience of similar forays over the past few weeks, but we came away with quite a list - confirmations of many of the identifications being subject to closer scrutiny in 'the lab'. James was also on hand, adding his considerable knowledge across a wide range of flora & fauna. On the bird front Mistle Thrush, Redwing, Pink-footed Geese, Tawny Owl and Siskin all added to the enjoyment and a reminder of the overall wildlife value of these 'pocket reserves'. Thanks to both Tony and James for a very interesting morning.
