Yesterday Felbeck Trust, in conjunction with our partners, North East Norfolk Bird Club, participated in the British Trust for Ornithology's annual National Nest-box Event by erecting a dozen nest-boxes, of different types, across Sustead Common/Surveyor's Allotment. The nest-boxes, which are built using sustainable timber products, were constructed by another of our partners, Norwich Men's Shed, and Felbeck Trust volunteers. The event received Anglia TV News coverage.

Nest-boxes are a simple and effective way of combating the loss of natural nesting places for many of our common garden species - Blue Tit, Robin, Great Tit and Pied Wagtail. We hope to add to this initial stock of nest-boxes over the coming weeks and look forward to monitoring their use over the summer.
